is it advisable to use generic ipod chargers/fm transmitters?

Question

are there any experiences where connecting these generic products to the ipod caused ipod to malfunction?
to what extent will the ipod be affected?
(by generic i meant the cheper made in china products, not 3rd party products like monster and griffin)
since we are on the topic, which 3rd party ipod chargers/transmitters are best?

always try to use proper ipod accessories... the cheap copies may not work and damage your ipod... you really want to take the risk??
