i dont know if my lawyer is doing such a great job...im feeling a little insecure. my ex is pushing the limits with me. He has already had his wages garnished (for spousal support) and is now witholding some of our other rental income (that we were sharing)for himself. Hewont let me pick up some of my belongings locked in his house. what can i do ?

i still owe my lawyer about $12,000.

the divorce started in March 2005. She charges $250 an hour. what is an 'agreement'? My ex knows to many people that can give him advice to get around things in the divorce.

If you do switch - make sure you have copies available of everything the other lawyer has done. Also - make sure the new lawyer is willing to accept the other person's work and go from there. Otherwise - you will be starting from scratch and will incur more charges. To owe $12,000 - I have to ask how much your lawyer charges per hour? That sounds extremely high for the average divorce. You should meet with him and express your dissatisfaction and ask for a recommendation. That might inspire him to put more effort into your case. Lawyers are extremely competitive.
Also - if your agreement specifies you have a right to your property he has locked up - take a copy to your local police department and they will escort you to your house to pick up your belongings.

Look for a better lawyer!!12000 $ already and you are still struggling................ i wonder what on earth will you be left with ultimately even after having the case decided in your favor!!

Absolutly....if ur lawyer is not doing a good job, feel free to switch to another one...
