1 mile = 1760 yard

(1/10) of 1760 = 176 yards

so (1/10) of a mile in yards is closer to half of 300 and 400 than it is to 300 and 400 yards

A mile is like 5100 something feet or so(too lazy to check), and a yard is 3 feet so no 400 yards is more than a tenth, about 1/4
