Wondered if anyone knows what taping/mudding the seams in an 8x10 or 10x10 bedroom would roughly cost?

Yes...we put the drywall in ourselves. My husband started taping/mudding but hasn't touched it in 2 weeks. I'm anxious to get it done b/c it is pending moving kids rooms around. We have 5 month old twins that are still in our room in separate cribs.

Some of the tape has bubbled up so that needs fixing. He has done 2 coats so far. Needs sanding and then a 3rd coat. Then sanding again. I plan to do the priming/painting.

the cost depends on where you live or if you hire a professional or not, where I live there is a minimum of $350 dollars for the day , as far as the bubbles in the tape you can fix it easily by sliding your spackle knife under the tape where the bubble is and lift the tape so you can apply more spackle underneath

Well, check with local supply companies for the mud and tape and what the prices are. Then consider the time involved as far as the finished product. (Custom corners, recesses, etc.) Also each coat, (Tape/Block/Skim coats, plus sanding in between coats...)

Let's say an 8x10 room, no add-ons.
Mud= a bucket and a half.____$ Whatever it is in your area.
Tape= 2 rolls____$ Again...
Tape coat/sand when dry.
Block coat/sand when dry
Skim coat/finish sand and touch up. (Plus clean-up,etc.)

I would figure on $10.00 to $15.00 an hour for labor plus supplies.
Sometimes I would just do the labor for repeat business and not charge for the supplies if I already had it in stock.
Hope this helps.

Whoever put up the dry wall should have included that in their price. If you put up the dry wall yourself, then you should also be able to put on the finishing touches. Material shouldn't cost you more than 10 dollars, unless it's a huge recreation room or something.

If you hire a professional to do it, the cost will vary dramatically. Call around and ask a few people for quotes.
