I think the novel is very good suspense wise.
The movie is just crap and if u haven't read the novel, you won't understand what's going on.

I was literally falling asleep while watching the movie. Even though I had read the book I was getting totally confused. The whole movie was basically almost 3 hours of endless dialouge. The most exciting thing was when they showed Ian McKellen. The book was definitely much better.

i was really disappointed about the way the movie came out. the book was one of the best i've ever read, but the movie was just so confusing.
