If you're based in the States high yourself off to the very nearest drugstore and get a bottle of no-nonsense 3% Hydrogen Peroxide. Use it on a pad of cotton wool as you would a skin tonic twice a day.

Now, it's not glam or pretty or smells nice.

It does fizz and leave a little white bit where you have a thriving zit or have popped a pimple. It tingles and you will need to get used to it over the period of a week. It will dry up most of your zits within a seven day period gently, it'll bleach the scars from older squeeze sessions or the bruises left behind and in about four days the blackheads etc will solidify and tend to ease out of the congested pores by themselves as little plugs of solid oil - some may itch and you'll find that you absently rub them out. All fine.

For the price, for the benefits I've NEVER found anything to beat it. It won't help much with really nasty deep zits that seen to have roots buried all the way to your toenails and you will have to spring for a topical ointment like Benzoyl Peroxide. But it'll work wonders.

Lastly - while doing this invest in an all purpose face cream you like with a sunscreen of at least 15%.You can pickup many of these at stores like the £/$/99p shops in Britain and the States.

If you can't source a decent benzoyl p. product take a simple slice of raw potatoe and rub over the zit for a couple of days. Dries them up like a treat!

If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.
For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.

Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.
Oh, by the way the site that helped me is:

I cleared up my skin COMPLETELY 15 years ago with a good old Basis Sensitive Skin bar... I think they cost under $5 and are sold at any drug store in the skin care aisle.
My husband and I bought him some Proactive right before our wedding...I just needed it for my back and I was AMAZED at our results. NOTHING else worked for him. It is on sale now ~~ you can get the whole package for around $20. That is a miracle dream right there.
Be sure to be stress free (I know, easier said than done) and use clean cloths, drink as much pure water (steamed distilled is best, in my opinion) and eat fruits and veggies.

While it took little less than two months for me to really see a difference, my acne, blackheads and whole lot of other skin problems I had such as eczema had completely cleared! It was totally amazing...

One of the best is proactive - you know the stuff on tv. But if you are on a really tight budget go to Wal-Mart and look at the St. Ives line they have. Avon makes some good products as well. But for best results you cant beat ProActiv

Lately, I have been using Neutrogena Deep Cleanse Invigorating, as well as Listerine as an Astringent. I know the listerine part sounds weird but it has worked wonders for my face and it doesn't dry my skin surprisingly. I learned about the listerine from a friend of mine who used to model.

Brunette cutie is right. St Ives Apricot is excellent because it's an exfoliant and a sloughing cream. Works wonders.

St. Ives Apricot scrub (Medicated), can work wonders provided its rubbed in gently and you moisturize with face cream that won't irritate skin.

Try using the Neutrogena Deep Clean Cleanser (you can find it at drug-stores). I've recently switched to this, and not only does it smell amazing and is oil-free, my complexion has REALLY improved. It also doesn't irritate your skin.
