in device manager, all i see is a list of codecs, and other stuff I don't recognize. Thank you.

Go to Start>Settings>Control Panel>Switch to Classic View>Sounds and Audio Devices

The name of the card should be at the top. After that, look up the card on a search engine like Yahoo (he he) or Google for its features

Open up Control Panel

(start, Control panel)
Click on Sounds and Audio Devices
(this will open up your Sounds and Audio Devices Properties)
Click on the Audio Tab
You will see you audio card name
Then you just google your soundcard and find otu all its capabilities (ie. like going to soundmax website).

information should have come with your system when u bought it otherwise go to the manufacturer site of your computer and look up ur system to find out what u have and the specs on it. if it's built into the mbd u can look at the mbd and try to find the chipset and research on the internet with those #'s same if it is a card in ur system

go to the start menu and click on 'run'

now type ' dxdiag ' and press ok
find the tab that says sound and that should show you some info..

also, instead of typing dxdiag, you could type ' Msinfo32 ' then press ok..
expand the components option then click on sound device..

download and install sandra lite.....it tells all...lol
