I have a compaq presario v2623ts laptop with celeron M processor.

Will I damage my laptop if I run it 24x7. There is no air-conitioning in the room where it runs. The temperatures are in the range of above 90F.

What should I do to keep my laptop healthy while running 24x7.

I have not shutdown the laptop since the past 5-6 days. Will it be harmful for the system?

I need to run it 24x7 as I seed/download torrents.

Will running it in power saving mode affect the seeding/downloading of torent files?

Running a laptop 24/7 in itself is not a problem. However, running it in a hot environment is a problem. The reason laptops run slower to their desktop counterparts is to keep the inside components cool, because interior cooling is a huge issue with laptops.

Heat is one of the biggest reasons for component failure, apart from using it as a hammer, etc.

You did not specify why you needed to operate the laptop in such a hot environment, so I cannot help with finding a cooler environment for its operation. Do try to use the power-saver options by hibernating the hard disk and monitor, if possible.

I hope this helps.

It may eventually hurt the fan and motherboard. I would turn it off ever 3 days just to give the pc a rest
