noone will let you open an account without checking your previous history, to see if you owe an money. Call the banks and tell them you want to settle the debt you owe with them. You will ALWAYS be able to get them to setlle with at least half of the owed amount. You better do this fast. I had 1 overdraft fee in an old account that turned into $350 in a few months with all the late fees. You problems will get much deeper really fast.

I don't think that it is a good idea to get a new checking account until your over draft fees are payed. If you have more than one account, and they are all over draft, then you need to watch your spending habits because if you keep that up, you will always have bad credit.

Until you get your debt squared away, you're going to have a hard time getting another checking account.

Getting your personal finances in order should be the priority here, not getting another checking account to which you can rack up more fees.

Start by locating a debt-relief counsoler. They offer free counseling and can reduce the payments by talking with your debitors. They should also be talk with financial institutions to get you a checking account.

How about you just deal in cash and money orders until you get your crap together? Obviousely you haven't figured out the concept of checks... or have you?

Writing bad checks can get you into legal trouble.

I wouldn't open a checking account for you either. YOU NEED A MONEY MANAGEMENT COURSE.
