more than likely, the front pump bushing has spun and is welded to the snout on the torque converter. I run into that all the time. Was it leaking out the front of the transmission before you took it out? In any case, this is how I remove them when there stuck like that. Take 2 large prying objects and pry back and forth and walk the converter and bushing out of the pump. Takes a little time, but normally comes right out.

it has a two stage insertion. to remove it, pull out then up and out again.
