Placido Polanco. Nobody ever seems to notice him, but he's a great defender, is 2nd in the AL with RISP, and strikes out only every 18 ABs (which leads the AL, I believe...). Plus, he has a great attitude. Not to mention way cool at-bat music!
The answer about all young unknown players threw me. I'd say we have a few well-to-fairly-well-known veterans:
Pudge Rodriguez
Magglio Ordonez
Carlos Guillen
Kenny Rogers
Todd Jones
Placido Polanco
Sean Casey
Maybe a few of those guys aren't "superstars", but they're well regarded throughout the Majors.

Norm "Stormin' Norm" Cash...and Al Kaline...and....all the old players I grew up watching as a wee one...
Back when they gave autographs for free and would sign anything...and were thrilled with the fans...and not arrogant twits.. and didn't strike... and Tiger Stadium did Family Night..where $10 would get your entire family into the game...
(*sigh*) Back when I liked professional sports....
