How does the Premier League and the Champ league go on at the same time. I thought that the top teams from each league played like a second season aginst the other league quaifiers.
Am I wrong and if so how does it work.

No, the top teams in the Premier league play the next season against each other in the Champions league.
The Premier league and Champions league are played at the same time.

It's actually the EUFA Champions League, not FIFA. The top teams from each domestic league play each other in a tournament during the next season. They have the same thing on every continent. The top 2 MLS teams play in the CONCACAF championship, which is the North American equivalent of the champions league. Then, in the following (third) season, the champions of each continent get to gether for the World Club Championship.
So, 3 years ago, Liverpool qualified for the Champions league by finishing in the top 4 of the premier league. 2 years ago, they qualified for the world club championships by winning the champions league. Last year, they lost to Sao Paolo in the world club championships.

There is currently a qualifying competition for the Champions League to see which teams qualify in the last 32, they then get split into the eight groups of four. The winners and runners up of each group then play into the last 16. During the competition, all European leagues carry on.

All qualify for the Champions league,
which is a tournament not a league, and they play and see who wins
