No. It is true that the kind of pill that you take may not have enough hormones in it to be effective. This is particularly true for low dose estrogen birthcontrol.

Many types of birthcontrol medications exist. You may just need to take the kinds that have higher doses of hormones. The only side effect of higher doses is that they can have higher side effects at times like weight gain or nausea.

No. I've heard that extremely overweight people that are 300 pounds or more may have to take a higher dosage but most chunky people are fine.
