Use the babysit in secret (nobody in home...... who can know that you're doing something strange..... when i'm alone in my house i play with a balloon).
To prove that you're responsable, try to have A+ in tests of the school, have a tidy room, be organized, don't play too much with computer games and show great interest in your study. Be responsible of your acts and be serious when people has a problem. To make some money isn't easy for your age, try to get RPG Maker XP and make a PC Game, and sell it or try to make Macromedia of Flash Movies with Macromedia Director MX or Flash Professional MX, put them in a web page and try to use Flash movies and make a PSP Flash Movie List with a price (you can use PayPal to make others to pay a fee for seeing your movies).

Ok for those that said that failing a grade is irresponsible, um, I didn't find out I was dyslexic until after I graduated from H.S. So, there could be other reasons for that. But, as far as babysitting, I think 12 is a little young. I wouldn't leave my kids with anyone younger then 14. No offense to you, but you are still really young. Don't be in such a hurry. If you want your mom to think you are responsible, then just BE RESPONSIBLE. Do things around the house without her asking you to do it, chores, helping with dinner, etc. Listening to her without arguing. You would be surprised what little things can make a difference. Don't worry, you will get there. Good luck in school.

The best way to show your mom that you are responsible is to do what you are supposed to do without being asked. You are 12 now, so you should know what needs to be done around the house and have your chores list. Do your chores (before she asks if you can) and also do a couple other things that she hasnt said for you to do. Do this on a regular basis. Finish your homework and keep your grades up. If you have any problems with anything in school, be mature enough to know that you need help. This should be a start, but it won't happen overnight. Good luck and try not to grow up too fast.

The fact that you aren't doing well in school (and the fact that your grammar skills are lacking) show that you are not responsible enough yet to be baby-sitting. I think you need to listen to your mom since (and I know this is hard to believe) she was 12 once too and understands a little more about life than you do. Personally, I would not let a 12 yr old baby-sit my child, as 12 yr olds are still children themselves. Focus on school, prove that you are hard-working and responsible, and in the future your mom will see how well you're doing and will probably agree to the baby-sitting thing. Good luck!

Tut tut!
Responsibility and dependability go hand in hand with a few other traits: Maturity, respect for authority, and patience for long-term rewards.
So start by bustin yer butt on yer schoolwork, not arguing with her and whining, and just plain doing as yer told. The best thing is doing stuff WITHOUT being told. If you can do all these things then maybe she'll decide you're capable of being responsible for another child. Because, no matter how grown you feel, you are still a child and she will worry about you.

Well, almost failing a grade is not very responsible. Ok finish all the work that your mom leaves to you. Then maybe clean the house to suprise her. Do all the you need to do . Then ask to help your mom if she needs help with anything. Then your mom will feel that you are responsible.
