A few years ago, I went camping in Big Bend, a huge national park in southwest Texas, near the Mexican border. The landscape is kind of bare, but there are mountains nearby, and the scenery is awesome.

On the way there, I saw a roadrunner. And once I got there, I saw a jackrabbit and a horned toad for the first time. I saw lots of tarantulas, but they're shy, so we left each other alone. One night, I heard a coyote howl. It was eerie but awesome.

I went with a group, and we slept under tarps. There weren't any streetlights nearby, so at night, I could look up and see thousands and thousands of stars. I even saw satellites as they passed by overhead.

Hiking was a lot of work, but our group had a lot of fun, too. I want to do it again sometime.

my favorite was outside of new orleans at Bayou Segnette,,,, We stayed in a "cabin"- it was huge and only $55 a night. Well worth the money and we all had a blast!

Bayou Segnette State Park in Westwego is just 30 minutes southwest of downtown New Orleans. The 580-acre park provides a unique environment where swampland meets marsh in close proximity to urban development. Twenty waterfront cabins overlook the bayou and campsites offer natural surroundings away from the fast pace of the Big Easy. A large boat launch, group camp, picnic area, meeting room and wave pool are also available.

I went camping at the Snake River in Oregon and had a blast. We have a big water park here and I have been to it a few times, and it was fun as well, but I prefer camping myself

I go all over the place and its always great. I can't remember every place I've been but here are the ones I did so far this year:
Acadia off the coast of Maine - rented cabin nearby on the coast
Devil's Den in Arkansas - fun and you can explore caves with your dog.
The Humbolt Redwoods in northern California - went white water rafting on the Trinity River
Yosemite National park in central California - gorgeous

I've been only to an amusement park, but not the water park section of it.

It's always super crowded, so I'm assuming it's a lot of fun...
