I want to say about 15 is a good age to start teaching them how to really put makeup on but most girls are wearing it far earlier and I don't see a need to! It makes their faces break out more (as if puberty wasn't bad enough) so it does the reverse of what they really want it to. Not to mention they don't need to look any older. I can't even tell how old some of the girls trotting around are anymore. It's rather scary....

I started at 12 or 13, and by then most girls had already been wearing it for a little while so I would say that is a good age.

I think maybe some powder, lip gloss, and mascara are ok around 6th, 7th grade...after that, start wearing a little more...but keep it NATURAL. I think eyeliner and bright eye shadows should not be worn until maybe u r a junior/senior in high school. The less makeup u can get away with wearing, the better. Guys don't like seeing u as 2 different people..one with makeup, one without.

It depends on the person. I never wore makeup until I started high school, but things have changed. I won't let my girls wear makeup until they are at least 13-14. I want them to know they are pretty without it. A little mascara or lipgloss is good. You don't need all of that stuff when you are so young.

I think that it's good 2 start experimenting with make-up when you're about 12. That's when I started to wear powder and eye-shadow. I started 2 wear eye-liner, mascara, and everything else when I was about 14.

13 seems an appropriate age to wear "natural" looking make-up. that's usually the transition period from elementary to junior high school. my mom let me wear clear or brown (not black) mascara when i turned 13 and tinted lip gloss. when i turned 14, i started using eyeliner, eyeshadow and lipstick. it was never dramatic or over done... after all you're still a kid at that age!! you just want to enhance your natural features, not hide them.
