The National Heart Association reccommends 20 minutes of mild exceise a day to keep healthy. But don't over do it, they mean like 20 minutes of jogging or power walking. Not weight lifting or anything that puts a lot of strian on your muscles

It depends what you mean by 'working out' - if it means moderate exercise (low-intensity walking, bike riding, or running), then no. If you are weight training, then it is counterproductive. The muscles need time to recuperate and heal - 48 hours minimum. If not, they won't grow because you are perpetuating a state of catabolism (muscle breakdown) instead of an anabolic (or growth) state. If the muscles have not had adequate time to heal and recuperate, you are just keep breaking down the tissue which will slow your growth and progress. Train the same body parts no more than twice a week with at least 2-3 days of rest in between. Then do light cardio or other exercises on 'off' days. And get low-fat healthy sources of protein - whey (what most bodybuilders use) is an excellent choice because it is generally low in fat and readily available.

You can work out every day as long as you switch what muscle groups you work on. You can work on upper body one day and legs and glutes the following day. Your muscles acctually build during the "rest" cycle. Not the workout cycle.
I have heard some people have more success with working out 3 or 4 days straight using all muscles and then resting for 3 days. But most do it the other way or they work out all muscles one day and do cardio on the opposite days

Depends on what you are doing. If you are strenuously working out the same muscle group everyday, then yes it is bad. But running everyday? Probably not but it's advisable to give your body some time to recoup.

It's a blessing to do an honest day's job and take the weekend to rest.
