Actually, yes... If you drink about a gallon a day, you'll drop a few lbs of water weight. Combined with proper diet and exercise, you can lose even more.

Technically. If you don't tend to drink water on a regular basis, try drinking the recommended 2L per day... you'll see a drop of about 3 pounds! It's all water-weight, but it'll be a good start to a weight-loss program. Then all you have to do is keep up with drinking lots of water and you won't gain any extra weight from water retention.

Hi
Just drinking water is good initially as you will detox a bit but you need a good programme like this one for you to loose weight so here goes,
If you are serious about losing weight, the calories in the food you eat should be less than the energy you use. You will have to increase your metabolic rate now, and plan your diet carefully.
Formulate your own weight loss plan and you will lose weight faster. More details available at http://tinyurl.com/m7ckx
Good luck

Not as a stand alone. However, if you drink a large glass of water before you eat, your stomach will be filled quickly and you will eat less. Combined with exercise, you will loose weight.
Plus, the human body is about 60% water. Keep it topped off and you'll feel better.

Drinking lots of water helps lose weight in two ways:
1) It suppresses hunger
2) It helps the body metabolize fat - it takes water and protein to convert fat to energy

Yes, if you do it the right way. If you drink water when you're hungry instead of eat, it fills you up so then you eat less food and lose weight.

It can help you feel "full" and therefore have less of a desire to eat.
This assumes that your weight problem is a result of eating too much when you're hungry. For some people their weight problems come from eating on a schedule vs. hunger, so the water "trick" may not hep them as much.

For the first day, you'll pee like crazy. Then after a while your body will get use to it and you'll gain a ton of water weight.
