Creationists are setting up camps everywhere, dispensing their words of biblical wisdom on evolutionary matters, whilst the world warms, pretty much due to humanities dislocation with its ecological roots.

"Intelligent design theory" needs to be consigned to the recycle bin, and emptied fast...the beauty of evolution has had billions of years for life to create it's diversity..and we don't need creationist reason to dictate it's origins, any more than humanist.

Natural processes beyond our current understanding created life; time and consequences created the divesity..we don't need obsessive, dogmatic and mis-educated people to tell our children otherwise..we should be teaching them how to sort out the mess we are about to unleash on our atmosphere, direct them away from religious diktat, and toward a sense of evolutionary and ecological understanding. There's only one issue common to humanity...being able to breath our atmosphere..so will creationists please stand down?

It would seem that it won't be anytime soon. All shades of Government seem set to continue or increase funding for the very institutions most guilty of disseminating the mis-education Creationists regurgitate. Faith Schools.

The sooner the rest of us give up the convention to concede people are entitled to their religious beliefs (despite their obvious fallacy) the better.

I'm afraid that Darwin's theory of evolution is just that a theory and as such has just as much scientific basis as Creationism.

Even if Darwin is right, there is nothing to prove that some divine being didn't include that within the set of working parameters in the creation of the universe (or multiverse).

The idea of God is a matter of faith. Again, no proof either way.

It is a matter if spiritual belief guiding that faith. Religions feed off that belief.

You have your own beliefs, which seem to have excluded the possibility of a divine being.

You could be right. If you are when death takes you into oblivion you are allowed a wry smile.

Now if those with faith are right, they will have a broad grin as they are whisked away to paradise. Of course, if you will actually get to join them is a matter of philosophical debate.

Addendum for Sossage.

Although Darwin has suggested that species evolve, the actual process of evolution has not been demonstrated to apoint that demonstrates proof.

My point is that divine intervention suggests that a supremem being set up the universe to operate according to laws set down by the 'God', it doesn't preclude the evolution of species being part of these laws.

The existence of a divine being cannot be proven or disproven. It is a matter of faith. You cannot let your lack of faith cloud your objectivity when looking at the two theories.

In response to the reply above, you clearly have no scientific knowledge. Yes, Darwin only came up with a theory, but it has never failed to explain anything. Just because most people are not intelligent enough to take the mental leap to understand it doesn't make it flawed. A theory with as much proof as Darwins is not to be viewed as the equal of a theory with NO PROOF, such as intelligent design. In fact, the eye is a prime example against intelligent design, because the nerve fibres in the eye come in front of the receptor, thus rendering the eye less effective than it could be. No mammal has evolved better than this this because it would require one or more generations to be blind. An INTELLIGENT, rather than random, designer, would have created something more useful than this.
Good original question, and I'd like to point out that even the Archbishop of Canterbury has called for creationism to be phased out.

ABSOLUTELY.

I am blown away that in this day and age, there are still scores of people who still believe in fairy-tales. A serious lack of intelligence plays a large part.
