My problem with this is, once I open it, it asks for my password. Despite entering the correct username and password it fails to open. Over and over it asks for the same info, then tells me the folders can not be opened.

Does anyone know how to bypass this?

Ps I'm using a pc in work, so its prob on a network.

this normally occurs when you share you system with other users. when you log on and open of Outlook 2003, it may want to know the username and password for the person who legitimately has an account on the mailserver. If you had changed your logon password to the system, your mailserver password would not change. Contact your system administrator to make sure you have the correct password and once you do that...
Open up Outlook
Click on Tools
Click on e-mail accounts
make sure the "view or change existing e-mail accounts" is selected.
click on Next
(you should see under name, your server name and type may be POP/SMTP)
click on Change...
Make sure your name is filled in (i.e., John T Johnson)
your email adress should read username@mailserver.com (i.e. jtjohnson@microsoftmail.com).
Make sure you Incoming mailserver (POP3) has your mailserver name in it (i.e. microsoftmail.com)
Make sure your Outgoing mailserver (SMTP0 has your mailserver name in it (i.e. microsoftmail.com)
and under Logon Info
User name (jtjohnson)
Password: (*******)
and click on Remember Password
click Next
click Finish and then close out Outlook
Open up outlook and it should not prompt you for a password again.

If your PC is on a network, I assume you're using Microsoft Exchange Server?

It sounds like your LAN ID is locked. Get your system administrator to unlock your account.

If its not that, then they will need to check your access rights to your mailbox, or they'll have to recreate your mail profile on your local PC.
