I've found expedia and travelocity to be good.
However, right now, choice hotels (Comfort Suites, Sleep Inn, etc.) is offering a deal where if you sign up for their Visa and use it just once, you get 2400 points, which will get you as much as 3 free nights at any of their hotels. Of course, the catch is that some hotels cost 2000 points, so you really only get 1 night, but hey, at least you get one free night just for using the credit card once! Check it out at choiceprivileges.com. I did and was very glad!

I find the best is priceline.com!
I was able to get the "Gaylord Palms Resort" in Orlando for $100 per night! It's a 5 star resort...normally over $400 per night! If you want more control, try hotels.com

The best one I have found yet, for booking anything, is bookingbuddy.com. you just go there and enter your info. once, and it brings all the companies up for you to compare. Everything from priceline to hotels.com. Check it out- its great and saves you tons of time on comparing prices!

I just happen to love naming my own price at Priceline. They have never disappointed me with location, amenities or price. Call me crazy but I am serious. I stay my Mall of America in nice places for $40!!!!! Yes, 40 bucks.
I also like www.hotwire.com.
