I get very sleepy about 2-3 days before it comes and it lasts until the first or second day. The first day is also very painful for me. Everyone has different symptoms, and if you are truly concerned then speak to your doctor. Birth control can help ease the symptoms, but if that is not an option for you just try to relax, drink some tea, look for other home remedies on the net.
If you are in a lot of pain and you are bleeding heavily, then you should definitely seek medical advice, it could be fibroids or other medical conditions

I don't tend to get sleepy, at least not any more than usual (yawn) but I get very anxious and can become very worried and stressed out about things that wouldn't otherwise bother me. Pain wise, the first couple of days used to be a nightmare then I got some hormone tablets from my GP, who said I was menopausal!!! Incidentally, the tablets also helped with the premenstrual stress.

PMS comes in many forms, I get a headache the week before then I get really sleepy. Everyone is different and what is normal for you may be completely different for someone else. Just get plenty of rest and pamper yourself a bit!
