I have always liked her but I always knew she was straight. She had just moved to America last year from China and we had both just started in a new school. I was a senior and she was a freshman. We became best friends and we only were around each other. I guess in her culture, it was ok for girls to hold hands becuase she always held my hand around the school. She went to China over the summer and is coming back soon. I will only get to see her for one day when she gets back because I am going to college and she is moving out west. I want to tell her that i did like her and just how I feel about her because I want her to know and because I am afraid I will never see her again. She is straight and we will probably never date but I wanted her to know. When see did see 2 girls kissing she said it was gross so I have no idea how she will react if I tell her. So, should I tell her that I am gay and I do like her or should I keep quiet. Please help.

I really can't tell you what to do on this one, I can't even advise you only because my friend I can tell her anything without her judging me. So I know you two are cool but if she is really truly a real friend if you told her that then it shouldn't bother her at all. She should embrace you as she would before she knew the news. And if you have to question her reaction then I wouldn't say its a go.

I like many of the other respondents thoughts. Only you however can decide what works best for you. You have had a whole summer to fantasize about her....she on the other hand has what she sees is a best friend at home. There are lots of love stories that don't work out. Gay or not.
You have one more day together before you realistically go separate ways. That means make it special not traumatic. This isn't about sex, it is about love and if you love someone then you show love.
Be the same person that she knows. Hold her hand if that is what she likes. Laugh and show love and friendship without introducing the sexual side to her.Afterall, she may know deep inside but doesn't feel that way about you.
Why do you want her to know????? Given it won't mean the same to her...it is something that you want to feel inside. Why not be the best friend you have been and just love her no matter what her sexual persuasion.
Like the other have said....just be friends, hug....and say goodbye. There is no reason to taint a memory.

I agree with randy, just tell her you care about her and leave it at that. BUT, wright her a letter and tell her not to open it until she is on her way or your gone. Then tell her, also explain you respected her and that's why you never acted on it. I'm sure if she ever crosses paths again with a lesbian, she will have a different respect for them...

Please don't tarnish a good friendship by telling her something that may be awkward for her. Good friends are hard to come by. In Asian culture it is normal for same sex friends to hold hands. I went to Vietnam in 2000 and saw lots of people, male and female, holding hands. It just means your a close friend and they care about you.

tell her you're gay but if you think you'll never see her again do you want the memory of you tarnished with 'gross' in her mind? what if you do see each other? she'll still think you're 'gross'. and for what? your ego. you're fantasizing that beyond reality she'll love you the same way. keep the friendship. the love may never fade, but what's more important?
