Well, here is a crisis line based out of Buffalo, NY....

(716) 834-3131 i put the website down below too

But they are likely to refer you to a shelter. The only way to becomeeligible for transitional assistance housing is to first stay at a shelter for 14-30 days, them theyu transfer you to an apartment. Strongly doubt you will be able to go directly to transitional housing.

Sorry bout that.

Sweetie, if you are living in a unsafe environment....GET OUT! But you cannot but so many restrictions on it. It is that unsafe, go to a local shelter. Yeah, you might have to live with other people for a while, but they will eventually help you get on your feet. As for you cat, as much as you may love it, it does not sound like you can care for it right now. Ask a friend to watch it for now or something.....

If its so unsafe I would go to a shelter times like that you cant be picky .Maybe have a friend care for your pet till you save enough money for rent and deposit.
Should only take 2 months max if you save right.

Call your chamber of commerce. They will be able to give you some ideas of who to contact. Most likely you will have to stay in a shelter but there are places that have apartments that are rent free for a month or so.

Call one of the LSW's (Social Workers) in the book. They can help you. This is what they do for a living. My GF is an LSW but for Idaho, not sure what she can do for you across the country but she has housing numbers on speed dial. I would assume the same for your neck of the woods.

First call united way, 211, explain your situation to them and see what they say. If they are unable to help go to the local Catholic Church, expalin things to one of the priests and They'll point you to where you can get help if the Parish itself is unable too. I hope this helps.

Just my 2 cents worth
