I bought a couple of bikes off of:
cycletrader.com
At least you can get an idea of the prices. Then if you do find something, make sure you or someone that knows bikes checks it out. Good luck.

I have found good old fashioned garage hunting. The best buys that I have achieved is off of personal owners just trying to get rid of them. Maybe hubby broke his arm on it, or junior went off to the army and forgot to take his bike. I used to scan the papers and trade mags and look for bike listings with little information. That was a key that the person advertising it didn't know much about the bike and listed what they knew.
Most of the time they just wanted to get rid of it without having to give it away or go through to much trouble. You will have to spend time looking at bikes you don't want, but what were you going to do that day anyway?
Good Luck
Tom

why dont you put Missouri in your question? I was going to say the Philippines....a new Honda 125 Wave street bike costs only 42,000 pesos, or $850.

Any of these links are good:
www.autotrader.com (go to motorcycles, you can search your area)
www.craigslist.com (if you are in a listed city, this is good)
www.ebay.com (you can always give this a shot)
Otherwise check your local newspaper's classified ads, or if you have a cycle shop near you, check out their billboard.
You can always reference what a bike is worth by going to www.nada.com and inputing the information.
