Contact your state department of natural resources, or try to find a wildlife rehab center that will take it. (Not all will, since it's a relatively large animal and they might not have the space for it.) This website http://www.wildlife-international.org/EN/public/emergency/emergencyrehab.html can help you find a rehab center near you, and just Google [your state] Department of Natural Resources for your DNR. You can also try contacting animal control.

In the mean time, just keep an eye on it and make sure it doesn't wander off into traffic or something. Also try to keep track of its location so you can tell the person who comes to pick it up.

Good luck.

If you have a tame baby deer, you had better let the department of natural resources have it. By itself, he is dead meat... reason being that he is a deer who is comfortable with people. That leaves him no defense, or fleeing response, to the sight of humans because he's used to seeing them.

I would suggest calling the department of natural resources, or your local zoo. either way, having a wild animal is very expensive, and time consuming for one family, or one person.

The Game Warden or local animal shelter will normally take in wild animals. On the other hand, how do you know if its tame? I'd also like to point out its illegal to keep wild animals as pets unless you are licensed

Ask your local DNR or call a vet to line up a solution. A tame baby deer will not do well on its own, so don't release it unless you have located a deer herd.

call the game wardens, its illigal to posess wild animals unless you have a permit. They will see it gets a good home, most likley an animal refuge where it will be safe and looked after
