Gas prices will remain high as long as the Oil companies are making so much money. Quit driving so much. This is not a Republican or democrate issue. Niether one of them can do anything about it. This is solely based on greed. The government could try and put a cap on it and legislate it but that in the long run would cause problems. If the american people actually stopped being so wastful then the Oil companies would pay attention. We are still paying less than the European countries.

Well, being poor, i have purchased a powered kerosene pump that also works well for sucking gas out of automobile gas tanks. I usually only hit the rich yankees that populate my hometown now.

Contact your Representative or Senator and implore them to lighten EPA and similar government agencies regulations. This would allow more competition and make it easier for oil companies to search for and refine more petroleum products, thereby releasing our dependence on the OPEC cartel.

Use public transportation.
Write to your local, state, and Federal representatives and urge them to eliminate gasoline taxes. Encourage others to do the same.
