I'm not sure why your media (USA) isn't showing it any more, possibly out of respect for the people who died and their families?
Here in Canada, we've moved on, not forgotten, just moved on. To show a tragedy over and over is a sick and twisted thing to do.

Because the media bigwigs want us to forget what happened to us that day and a lot of Americans have forgotten. I haven't and I don't think I ever will. Everyone needs to remember that we lost our fellow Americans, people just going to work and going about their lives. No one wants to admit it, but the day those towers fell and the Pentagon was hit, was the day that America went to war. The media has stopped showing this tragedy to make us forget and become the blind children we once were and apparently it is working. Did you hear that there are 11 Egyptian students missing in America? It's a little over a month until the 5th anniversary of the September 11th attacks and instead of showing the faces of those missing students, they put the message on the tickers at the bottom of the screen. I'm not saying these students are terrorists, but shouldn't they be going to great lengths to find these students, even if it's just to make sure they're okay? I have always said that the media is a double edged sword. They give us info we need and info we don't need. I don't want to forget. I can't forget.

Its an attempt at sensitivity. Those who lost family and friends probably don't want to see it again. There is also the fear in the media that they'll be seen as opportunists trying to make higher ratings (and that translates to more money) off of a very bad time in our history.

Post traumatic stress syndrome. They could get sued for aggrivating the condition.

I'm sure they could if they wanted, but why would you want to see it again? In my opinion, once was much more than enough. People don't need to relive it, especially those who were there.
