These days most all burners are compatible with all systems. You should check the side of the box for the compatibility as far as memory requirements, Operating System, etc.

In addition, make sure you are getting the right connection. If you're replacing an Internal Cd Burner, you may need IDE rather than a USB (which is most likely for external use).

When in doubt, get a tech to open the box and tell you what to look for. Money well spent.

Most CD and DVD burners are compatible with systems these days... you should be more concerned about the driver and operating system. If you're running Windows XP... you should be just fine.

Most likely any one that you get will be compatible. As long as you are running a relatively new computer it will work. You could check your computer's motherboard to see if it has an IDE port which is what you would plug the CD drive into.

Any burner is really compatible. You need the wire that connects it, that's all. If you have 3 disk drives connected right now (with hard disk,) you cannot connect another one without taking one out.
