Don't worry I'm not going to get a "wedding band" or a boyfriend or husbands name. I want to get my sons name in Japanese characters around my right ring finger. I want it there so I can put a ring on it and cover it up if I am around family members that might find it offensive. I live in Japan so tattoos aren't look highly upon the older generation. I already have one tat so I am not going into this blindly. If you have one how was the pain and how did it turn out?? Thanks

My husband has one, and has to get it touched up roughly every six months. The skin on the fingers is not really conducive to tattoos, they fade quickly, and change shape. I'd reccomend different placement.

My husband and I looked into getting wedding bands tattoo'd for our anniversary. We were told by a number of tattoo artists that it's not something they recommend (some won't do it at all) because the skin there renews so constantly. The ink "bleeds" outside the design and before long, you'll have nothing but a blur around your finger.
