No not at all predominantly black, I take it you mean the people and not the country, tut tut to you,Cuba is a beautiful place, I was in Cuba for a holiday myself in April this year and as I met tons of Cuban people, who by the way are so beautiful and amazing, I met a very well mixed race of Cubans, black, coffee coloured and white, they are very well educated, have a health service that is miles better than ours, none of the Cubans, contrary to popular belief are starving, they will do absolutely anything for you and they permanently have a smile on their faces and you should see their teeth, perfect, never seen so many sets of perfect teeth, none of the Cubans I spoke to were unhappy with how they lived or what job they did, they adore children and are so family loyal it shows our country up a lot, you know even if Cuba was predominantly black, it would still be beautiful, but as it never was or ever will be black no problem.

In the olden days of colonization by the Europeans when the plantation owners imported workers from Africa many countries got populated by Blacks. Similarly, many Caribbean islands were populated with Indians from India.
Cuba has a mixed-race population because the Spaniards that colonized it in 1898 were what you consider 'White' or in todays political correctness: Caucasians. In those days the Spaniards were just Spanish not Latinos. Latinos is a reference to people from Latin America that has Spanish descent. As you are aware Europeans are 'White' in complexion hence you see the light complexion Latinos.
As times passed the two races inter-married (Spanish and Black) and the skin complexion varied depending on the genes of the dominant parent. You could sometimes find an inter-married family that has dark complexion kids and at the same time light complexioned kids..
Hope this was informative enough for you :).

Ethnically, Cubans are a mixed people. The breakdown is as follows:
66% White
12% Black
22% European-African
Also, to be Latino just means to be of ANY hispanic background.
So to answer your question, Cuba is NOT a predominantely black country.

Cuba's original inhabitants were local Amerindians, but when the Spaniards invaded it in the 1500s they killed most of them off and imported black slaves from Africa. Modern Cubans are mostly descended from the slaves and the Spanish colonists, with a sprinkling of the original Amerindian population. Obviously a lot of other people from different races have turned up over the years as well...

Anyone can be "Latino" whether they be Black, indigenous, White, or even Asian in some cases (see Chinese Cubans and Chinese Puerto Ricans). Latino is not a race, it is a cultural distinction for someone who comes from a Spanish speaking country. Most Cubans are of either full of mixed African ancestry.

Cuba has a diverse population. As with most countries in that region Africans arrived as part of the slave trade. So there are Cubans that look more "Spanish" and those that look "Black".

Don't know but take a look at England our is a predominatly white country, and look how many different races we have, pakistanis, chinese, japanese, jewish, blacks, romanians, portugese, albanians I've probably missed some out too many to remember anyway.
Oh by the way I'm not racist either just commenting, I think all countries will probably merge someday when all the wars have stopped.

Personally, I LOVE that exotic Afro-Latin look in a woman. That is why I hope to move to Cuba, Dominican Republic, Trinidad, Colombia, or Venezula next year to live and work. Can't wait!
