why can't we celebrate the birthdays of our president, pm, sm, mm etc by declaring ph?

too many holidays would discourage overseas firms from setting up the offices and or factories here

1. why am I getting paid for someone else being born?
2. on the holidays we do get, what do you do? most people I know sit around and get drunk....... very respectful.
3. if you got more payed holidays, you'd get less hourly pay to make up the difference. companies can't go to the ends of the earth for employees, they have overhead you know
4. every nationally recognized holiday closes banks and sets deposits back one day. I kinda like my bills paid on time, thank you. I don't want to have to carry around a schedule of events for a year so I won't forget and have to wait a weekend to see my cash. I don't want to have to wait to talk to a loan officer because he's got a holiday.
5. it closes government offices. the lines at the dmv, post office, etc. are long enough without another day off.

Businesses would lose money paying people for taking those days off.

We should have Napolean Dynamite day where we all wear 80's clothing and walk around saying "gosh!" alot.

because there are too many hoildays and our companies we work for would lose profit giving us all these paided holidays and they would have to lessen our salary or hourly pay
