yes, but according to Bush Jr., Bush Sr. and Reagan this is not a problem.
It's not a problem for them they mean. They will not pay it. The working class tax payers will pay it with higher taxes. Did you see the millions more in give aways to the wealthy failed in Congress?
$400 billion for Defense and $300 billion for Iraq all new debt made by republicans in Congress on tax payers. Congress also gave it's members the 8 th pay raise. Again all debt.

Yes David, you are absolutely right! According to an estimate, the debt per person in USA works out to US$30000. It may have already increased by now. Multiply that figure by the number of people in USA today, you will get a picture of the enormity of the debt as it stands now!

As much as I dislike Bush and his incompetence, but that's just wrong. I think truman had the highest debt. It dropped with Carter, and went up against because of the Reagan and Bush Seinor. Clinton then dropped it by a fairly large percentage.

And, to the first poster's ignotrant and uneducated question, it affects all of us because the debt has to be paid off eventually. The only way the government can raise money is by raising taxes.

To the guy in Texas - we are not at war anywhere. War has not been declared.

Lets see......inflation is a factor, war on terrorism (remember 9/11?) which is a type of war never experienced before, difficult to fight, and has completely changed our security/defense structure in America, several hurricanes and natural disasters that have been unprecedented, and he inherited an awful economy.........I'm not a bush supporter, but do believe he receives too much criticism.

Save your breath no one is going to believe you about the economy until the dollar finally crashes. A better question would be "What does every fiat currency in the history of mankind have in common?" I'll give you a hint, you have to keep creating more and more money in the form of debt to make it work and that eventually causes a ________.

actually the congress did that. The president does not spend money - you need to look at your civics books.

The economy is also larger than at any time in history and we are at war.

Having said that, the greatest thing dems and republicans could do for this country is to stop spending OUR money!!!!!

Clinton gave military secrets to the Chinese, North Koreans went laughing to the launching pad with 6 billion of OUR dollars, and he lied to a federal grand jury.
