Yes, just put "-4" everywhere you see an "x" and do the arithmetic.
Just be careful with powers of negative numbers.
(-4)^2 = 16
(-4)^3 = -64

g(x) = 4x^3 + 2x^2 + x - 7

g(-4) = 4(-4)^3 + 2(-4)^2 + (-4) - 7
g(-4) = 4(-64) + 2(16) - 4 - 7
g(-4) = -256 + 32 - 11
g(-4) = -235
