I want to do it myself. And I want to know how. so I have some questions. How? What age? Was it worth it?

Don't do it by your self, you need someone to help you do it, or else you'll get hiv . You can do it when you're 15 or 16 year old.

I did my own when I was 13. I burned a hollow needle over a candle. Then I put peroxide on it to sterilize it even more. Then I iced my belly button for a really long time, like half an hour. THen I pierced it, I shoved it through, thats self explanatory. The last bit is the hardest, because the outer layer of skin is so tough. Just shove it through, thats the part that hurts but its over once you get it through. Then I put the ring in. Make sure you dont use a needle, use a hollow needle or a seringe or a really thick safety pin or else the ring wont fit because the hole wont be big enough and you went through all that for nothing. Make sure you use a lot of peroxide on the hole twice daily so it doesnt get infected. Its most definatly worth it if youre careful.
Why are you doing it yourself? To hide it from your parents? Thats why I did it.
Tip of advice: After about 2 years you can take it out for a while without it closing, sometimes later than that, but NO SOONER! It will close because it takes that long to heal completly.

I got mine pierced professionally when I was 25yrs old and it hurt like h*ll. I couldnt imagine doing it myself not to mention the after care. It can easily be infected at first. I would definately go to a professional!

Dont do it... Don't let your friends talk you into it...
Your ear maybe, but not your belly button. It is a difficult place to do the piercing, not straight forward....

Do not do it yourself! My friend pierced hers herself and it got infected very badly and she got very sick and had to have surgery. All because she couldn't wait one week to get it done professionally. I got mine done professionally when I was 13 and it was worth it.

I don't recommend you doing it yourself. Things could go very wrong or you could get it crooked. I had my done by a tattoo place and I love it. I did it when I was 18.

ouch..dont do it yourself..you can put yourself in danger for infections..
