I have to agree with everyone else on this.I've never heard French Canadians called "peppers" either. Just "Frogs","Canucks", and Damned good hockey players! Peace...

This will tell you all you need to know about the term "pepper". It s a derogatory term based on the stereotype that French Canadians drink Pepsi instead of Coca-cola as it was cheaper.

Born and raised in Ottawa which is full of french Canadians and is also located right beside the border of Quebec. My first husband and his family were french canadian. Never heard of this in my live.

I asked my boyfriend (who is a Franco-Ontarian living in Ottawa) about this and he's never heard the expression.

I think they must be chili peppers cuz my French Canadian guy is HOT!!! *sassy wink*
