I live 30 minutes from Disney and go there all the time. My fiance and I always take trips and stay in Orlando, we go to the east coast and head to Cocoa Beach, Daytona, St. Augustine. We also go to the west coast and go to Clearwarer, St. Pete, Tampa. We want to go to the Keys, Lauderdale, WPB, etc. at some point. We do all kinds of weekend trips! There's so much to do!

I am a native Floridian third generation. Although we may go for a day or 2 we would never go for an entire vacation. Theme parks in Florida have changed alot in the last 5 years. It is always crowded. With so much technology everywhere even kids aren't very impressed nowdays and after a while it all blurs together. My 7 y/o has been to disney twice and refuses to go again. She will not try the other parks because to her theme parks are all the same. More work (and waiting) than fun.

I'm sure most Floridians have either already been there (because every relative they have comes to their house to stay for their vacation!) or they are retired and too old to do the theme park thing!

Depends on what holiday you are looking for. Not bragging or anything but the USA has beaches, mountains, plains, valleys and gorges. It has every kind of holiday you could want. Hard part is knowing what you want!!!

Of course we go there. Just not during the summer or any prime vacation days. And its not just the theme parks in Orlando that attracts us. Orlando is a big city with lots to see and do. I live about two hours away and my fiance and I drive there all the time just to hang out and see what the city has to offer. Lots of museums, wineries, MALLS, outlet malls, and some nice state parks outside of Orlando. Its a pleasant city with lots to offer.

sure, floridians go to theme parks. (we're not all retired you know). it's usually cheaper for fla. residents to get into parks, plus its good for when you only have 1 or 2 days for a vacation. yes, i love going other places too but its hard for just a weekend

Hi... I live in Florida and go to Disney/Orlando every chance I get. Lots of times I go because relatives or friends from up North come down and we meet in Orlando and go to the theme parks. I love Disney World!

Why not?! You've got amusement parks practically in your backyard. Unless, of course, they already take advantange of the fact.
