I mean can it be subjected to constant exposure to water, does it damage platinum or diamonds?

Considering it is the most precious metal, I am sure it can withstand water. But, if you are worried, why not just take it off. I wouldn't worry about showering with it on though. You should be fine!

Since platinum is a layer over gold it will wear off thru constant friction thus the need for re dipping after a few years, diamonds don't wear out ,they can tho become loose in their settings and fall out,I would not wear my jewelry in the swimming pool but I do take my baths while wearing my wedding rings because I never remove them.
platinum contains, indium, osmium, palladium ruthenium, and rhodium and is also used to coat the head of missiles and has many technologically uses

It wouldn't be a good idea.

" * If your platinum is set with diamonds or other precious stones, be especially careful as these materials can be more susceptible to damage. Some fine jewelry pieces combine platinum with karat gold jewelry. Care for these pieces as you would your gold jewelry or consult your jeweler."

Given that it takes a lot of pressure over a lot of time to make a diamond, I don't think a little water is going to make them all of the sudden dissolve.

And with platinum really only being soluble in hot aqua regia (nitric and hydrochloric acid mixture), a little pool water ain't gonna do crap to it.

Diamonds are the hardest substance & platinum does not tarnish. Now, as for them slipping off & going down the drain or out to sea, that is another matter.

I don't know about swimming, but I have a platinum bracelet and I do bath in it on occasions when I forget to take it off with out any mishaps. but depending on your diamond setting it is best to just play it safe and take it off.

I just DON'T wear my diamonds or any jewelry for that matter in water..that even means while doing the dishwasher..It tends to get dirt in the setting and can loosen the diamonds..I don't know about you..but diamonds aren't cheap!!

Swimming would be fine... but I wouldn't leave it in a pool or in the ocean... both the chlorine and the salt would probably do some damage...

... both though, would take a LOOOONG time to have any effect, and would most likely get washed off in the shower.

Don't worry about it... swim away. Just don't lose them.

Platinum is resistant to almost anything. Gold is too. But white gold from today is not.

Get diamonds checked every 6 mos.

to be safe i would just take them off during the bath and swimming. I never keep my wedding ring on during baths b/c it might slip off and harm the diamonds same with the pool
