We've had several black Miss USA, not a big number, but we have. Is the media racists? Yes, because they have this big conception on what is beautiful. You have to be a size 2, according to the media. You have to have fair skin, according to the media. You have to have long, beautiful, straight hair, according to the media. You can't have any type of curvy figure, according to the media. Your facial structrue has to be European looking, according to the media. Basically, the media gives Americans their conception about what an American woman must look like. When, in actuality, most American women are not 5'7, 125lbs; the average American woman is 5'4, 145lbs. Thus, comes the beauty pagents, most Miss USA are the image that the media believes girls should look like. Therefore a lot of African Americans do not win, because they do not fit into the catagory. Most African Americans have a curvy figure, a la Beyonce or Halle Berry. Some African Americans hair is semi long and straight, due to perms, but some women of the race wears braids, dreadlocks, weaves, that isn't the American look. A lot of black women damn well isn't a size 4 or smaller. African American women love their curves and it's very rare you find one that doesn't. We believe in having a little meat on the bone and so do our men. We love our *** and don't believe it's too big; the bigger the better. We love our full lips and the way we walk and talk. Our culture is coming into the main stream now. People of other races are rushing to get butt implants or working out and getting lip injections because they want to grab that kind of attention. But, to bring it back to the Miss USA, rarely, will a black with a curvy figure win because Miss USA is based off of the older standards it was set up with, way back then. Tall, long legs, skinny, fair skin, and long hair. To have a black woman win Miss USA is a milstone in history. Miss USA is a rig contest anyways. It's like saying a fat woman could win, any pagent, not just Miss USA. The media and it's standards will always prevail in Americans mind and they will follow the trends of what is hot in Hollywierd. So, now super, aneorix skinny is in. What's next? America will never consider the a la Marilyn Monroes size 14-16 beautiful for a while, even though old clothing fashion is coming back in style. America is stuck in size 0-double 0 mode for a while.

First off, Vanessa Williams was Miss USA, and definitely black. Secondly, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that the selection of Miss USA doesn't have anything to do with the media!

That will never happen. It is weird, because the U.S. is so multicultural with so many people of different races/backgrounds, but yet we see the same scenario, a skinny white girl with blonde hair. It makes no sense. What happens is that the U.S. is not ready for a change. They are afraid of it and can't accept that there are much more prettier and intelligent women of different races that easily qualify for Ms.USA. But it is still a prejudiced world we live in. I hope it changes as time goes by.
