Interesting and thoughtful question.
I would build my dream home on a small island in Hawaii. I would have many swimming pools, both indoors and out. I would have a skate ramp, for my love of skateboarding, and I would have one pool empty for extra skating space. I would have a collection of surf boards in one room so that my family and friends could all go surfing together. One room in the house would be a sun room with ray protected glass, so that we can have the summer sun along with being protected. The kitchen would be in the center of the house, with everything around it. It would be a modern look home, and also very tropical. I would build a tree house for future children. A tree house with everything in it, TV, bathroom, beds, kitchen, etc. It could almost be a house itself.
And so much more!
Thank you for getting me thinking of a dream home, now all the imagination has gone to my head. LOL xP

Some where in the Chugach mountain range in Alaska. I would have and indoor pool and spa and a large under ground food storage area for those long winters. I would have natural stone floors that could be heated and it would be built using and incorporating the most energy efficient and innovative ways so that the bills would be low and the impact on the environment would be minimal.

I would build my dream home in a converted warehouse because I would want enough room to have a pottery studio, photography studio and drawing studio. I would want the warehouse to be big enough for my personal quarters but also would like all these various studios to be for kids that wouldn't be able to get access to these things. Basically I would like to help at risk kids by utilizing the arts

Overlooking the ocean in New England.
I would have an all glass ceiling in the kitchen. That would be pretty sweet.
And a pool like no other.
