They're all pathetic ailments too. its almost too obvious to not notice that almost EVERY commercial is for cholesterol, irratable bowel syndrome, damaged esophogase. All these pills are taken daily forever it seems

There's more money in selling new medication to rich people with not much wrong with them than to poor people who are suffering from serious diseases. The research involved in finding a new "cure" for smelly feet or rumbly belly is much less expensive and difficult than finding a cure for cancer, AIDS or the common cold. The commercial decision is obvious.

However, the product has to be advertised because it is relatively trivial, and because there are many competitors with similar products. This of course adds to the cost of the product, but it does keep the people who make the ads in work. Free Television depends for its continued existence on the income it gets from advertising. It also is a product that is being sold to you, the programmes are only there to carry the ads, to make you watch the ads. I don't know CBS evening news. I suppose that it is prime time on a free channel. So only the most profitable companies would be able to buy time there. By and large, that is the manufacturers of patent medicine.

There are huge needs in society that are not addressed because there is not enough money in it. It is a problem with basic Capitalism. Thank goodness there are a few people who don't just have their eyes on the bottom line. They need all the support we can give them, moral and financial.

"After watching CBS for two days I found that commercials for automobiles were the most numerous. If fact, on NBC and CNN there are more commercials for autos than any other single subject. The auto manufactureres, especially in the US are hurting ... bad! New drugs take a good portion of the time out for infomercials ... they're pretty damned irrating. Your right about cholesterol and the esophagus, we must get near 4 hours a day on those damned drugs.
There are much too many commercials ...Period!"

YOU are just the kind of person that we are looking for in my new forum. Its at www.cclub.editboard.com. As long as you keep up with comments like this you can succeed there. Do make sure you wisit.

About your question, i too agree that we should watch wht we eat. The stations are also the blame, one second on the news they are talking about how the new pill is bad, and the next second theres a comercial for the "new pill" that they just talked about. I also think that people are now going to the doctor for ever litle thing, yes that is bad. Sometimes it is nessesary for you to go to the doctor, but sometimes its also harmfull because your bodies defences will most likley weaken as they get more and more depended on the pills.

So anyway, just comon up to our website.

It was not always that way. When Dan Rather decided to take on George W. Bush, many of the sponsors decided to bow out. The drug companies are heavily indebted to the liberal lobby; they decided to support the liberals at CBS.
