I think a 5-6 year old child deep down knows what he/she wants to do as an adult. The child plays those kind of games, but don't think of the usual kiddy games like vet, teacher etc. Look for the things you wanted to play within a game! That's the real job for you as an adult. I remember I liked to play the part where I'm the 'advice giver' or 'the one who mixes the magic potions that will cure ill people' and now after a lot of searching, researching and studying I'm a holistic therapist. I also create aromatherapy blends that makes people feel better. So what you need to look at is what games you were playing as a kid (or what roles within a game more like) and you need to follow that path. Then you will have job satisfaction and even money won't be that important.

no, not at all. I've had my job for 2 years, and I go in and do the same boring computer, number crunching every day. I would take a job for 1/2 the pay if it meant doing something I loved (like working with children) Come to think about, I should change jobs. Why be bored out of your mind and completely unsatisfied? Where are the classifieds? I am moving on. Thanks for asking.

I'm a recruitment consultant. I used to be a nurse, but the pay was pretty poor. I can earn the same doing this, plus bonuses and I don't get covered in s**t, p**s and vomit. Oddly enough though I loved nursing and would love to go back. However I will never be able to afford to!!
On the whole I am happy, but can't wait to be branch manager, then regional manager etc etc etc!!!!!

I'm as happy as Larry. I get paid far too much and spend my time between Paris, Frankfurt, Rome, Vienna, London, Madrid and Helsinki. Oh and New York and Sydney 2 or 3 times a year.
As for your Drama degree..... why ??!!

I am trully happy with my career; the current job has its odds and quirks though, mainly because of the local boss-substitute (he isn't into IT, he's just the economist to represent the real boss, who is far and away). But the team is great, the projects are sufficiently interesting, and the pay is reasonable, so - it's OK.

Yes and No. Have a degree in graphic design...and i'm a graphic designer. But I want to relocate to East Texas. Definitely need to move away from my hometown and experience new things. It's not good when you feel trapped and feel restricted with no options.

Yes. Totally.
I have been in IT since 1978, had my own business for a number of years. Now work as project co-ordinator for Christian business on minimum wage, and I could not be happier. Plenty of challenges, interaction andd job satisfaction.

I am truly happy because I have not yet started my career and therefore have not been put off it yet, but give it time, ask me in a year or two and I'll probably be as cynical as anyone else.

Not at all satisfied. I'm also in I.T. and I hate it, every day just seems like a waste. I don't have a degree in dramatics or anything but that was one of my interests. I'd love to do something 'arty'.

I work in a bar for minimum wage-i dont think i need to put anything more. If your not happy take a risk and quit. You wont get anywhere without taking a risk.
