i heard that people can also get it through toliet seats and things like that. and what if you are possibly bleeding from it? i also heard that it can cause women to bleed irregularly?

Yes, it is an STD. The scary thing is that women won't experience any symptoms until it's really bad. You can have it for months or years without any signs. Therefore, if you're sexually active and you don't use condoms every time (which really, you should, every single time), you should get screened for STDs (ie tested for them) every three months.
