Wow, this is such a hard question to answer as there are / have been hundreds of superb singers. What do you want me to judge them on? Simply their voices / the type of stuff they sing / their image / everything?
For a male, I'd have to say Xavier Naidoo (German singer), coz he's got the originality, the voice, the talent, the flexibility & the style.
For a female, I'd have to say Diana Ross for the same reasons.
