0.4% of $100.00 is $0.40, or 40 cents.

Each 1% of $100 is $1. 0.4% must be 4/10 of that value.

40 cents...it's easy working with the number 100 because 100 percent is the whole amount, so any partial amount is going to be exactly that number when the whole number is 100...for example, 50% of $100 is $50...25% of $100 is $25...likewise .4 % of $100 is 40 cents (4/10 of $1)!

that would be 40 cents, because 100 divided by .04 is 4/10 so then you get 40% of 10 which is 40 cents...i hope that helps

the decimals move two places for a % making .004 and the . for 100 moves in two places to be 1.00 so a 1.00 x .004=.40 cents provided 0.40

If you actually mean 4% which is .4 then of $100 would 40 dollars.
