I was wondering when you're most likely to get pregnant? Before or after your period...I had unprotected sex right after my period and I have felt really weird ever since...like on and off cramps, and bad stomach aches...I was also at a 4 day music festival where I did a lot of drinking and partying and I was thinking maybe I was just coming down from that. If anyone knows can you please let me know? Thanks

Ovulation, on average, takes place 2 weeks (that's 14 days) after your period starts. You have to count Day 1 of your cycle as the day you start your period. So on Day 14, that's when ovulation is usually expected to start, assuming that you have a 28-day cycle, and that your cycle is very regular and consistent. So it is midway through your cycle that you are in the best time to get pregnant.
The common symptoms of pregnancy usually are:
-sore or tender breasts
-fatigue
-urinary frequency
-constipation or diarrhea
-nausea with or without vomiting
-headaches
-a missed period
-a positive home pregnancy test (or blood test)
Stomach aches are not necessarily indicators of a pregnancy, so I don't know if you are indeed pregnant. Take a home pregnancy test if you are missing your period already. It could be that what you're going through is just from partying too much - maybe a stomach indigestion??
Goodluck!

If you have a normal period ovulation takes place about 2 weeks before your period starts. Partying and drinking are hard on your body, so most likely you are just feeling the effects of that, BUT don't forget, sperm can live inside your body for 3-5 days, so even if you were not ovulating at the time you had sex, you can still get pregnant. The sperm just kind of hangs out waiting for the egg to be released. Wait to see if you get your next period or go in for a blood test. Also if it has been less than 7-10 days since you had sex, what you are feeling would not be pregnancy because it takes that long for the fertilized egg to implant in the uterus, so no symptoms before that. And Tari is COMPLETELY WRONG. A week after ovulation the egg is not longer viable. After being released it is only fertile for 24-48 hours....2 days!

Everyone's cycle is different. There is a myth that woman ovulate 14 days after their period begins...but that is only an AVERAGE and each month can be different. The other thing is that sperm can live inside you for up to 5 days.... so if you are having a shortened cycle one month and you have sex right after your period and you ovulate earlier than day 14 than yes, there is a chance of getting pregnant. They only way to know is to know exactly when you ovulate. There are several ways to know and some are more effective than others. Some can only predict before ovulation happens and some can only predict that is has already happened. The absolute best info I can give you is to go read a book called Taking Charge of your fertility by Toni Weschler. It will help you understand your body and all the myths about it. It will help you time when you are ovulating and the best times to conceive – or not! . It's about knowing your body and knowing when you are fertile or not. You can pick and choose what you do with your info. Good luck and don't listen the all the myths! Even if you don't get into charting and everything....it will help you in so many ways!

Actually you can ovulate at any time, even though it is normally halfway through. This is why planned parenthood calls the "rhythm method" soon-to-be-parents.
There can often be no physical indicators that you are pregnant. What you are discribing generally doesn't happen so soon after fertilization.
But what you are feeling could be a sign of something else. You probably have the flu, or simply making yourself psychologically sick due to stress about this.
Get yourself checked and protect yourself or at least take the pill in the future.

You ovulate 11-21 days after the beginning of your period. Sperm stays alive and active in your body for 3-5 days. Anywhere in that window, conception is possible.
Get a pregnancy test. And if you are pregnant, quit partying.

Typically, you will ovulate 12-14 days after the first day of your last period. Some women ovulate a day or two sooner or a day or two after. So, to answer you question - your best chances of getting pregnant are right in the middle.

About a week and a half after your period when you start ovulating is when you're most likely to get pregnant. BUT! You can get pregnant anytime in reality.
