I just found out this morning that I'm pregnant. Me and my husband have been trying to have a baby for about 3 years now.
We've discussed baby names the entire time, you know just the what if we have a boy/girl conversations.

Anyhow, I was wondering if everyone would be willing to share their favorite baby names?

I have three children from previous marriage. My oldest is Travis James, my youngest son is Zakary Lee and my daughter is Emma Elisa. I am very partial to the old names like Emma and Abigail or Charles and Preston.

Thank you for giving me such beautiful names to think on. And I liked the idea about the list!

Congratulation to you and your husband. I have 4 kids, so I am partial to their names. Haley, Sarah, Alexander, and Ian are theirs. The last 2 are boys and me and my husband used their middle names as the names that they are called. Whole names, John Alexander and Christopher Ian.

The way me and my husband did things was a little different. First, we would come up with our own list of 1st names and then we would sit down and compare the list and then consolidate our 2 list, to one with common names. Once we narrowed it down to one list, we would pick 3 names from that. We would sit on them for a while and wait until we got the sex of the baby, and then we would pick the first name. Next we would make up another list for the middle names. That is the way it worked for us and it seemed to take our minds off the length of the pregnancies and something to do. Good luck to you and hope all is well.

When my son was born I wanted to name him "Shine", so that I could sing to him "you are my son shine, my only son shine". Small attempt at humor (very small). I don't have a favorite name. It is hard to pick a name for a baby because you don't yet know their character. Both of our children seem to have grown into their names; their personality fits the name they were given. All of that being said, congratulations to both you and your husband. I hope the pregnancy goes smoothly and that God blesses you with a healthy, joyful child and years of happiness as a family.

In my family we recycle names. In my generation we have
Edmund Allen
Daniel Brian
Wendy Janine
Carol Anne
Susan Lynne
Eva Jean
Tyler George
Jeffery Paul
Phil Jeffery
Jayson Edmund
and the list goes on ( big family). We were all names for some relative who one of our parents had a fond connection to or fond memories of. My boys are named for their great grandfathers, the ones who werent alive to see their great grandchildren born. My boys have pride in both sides of their family history and are eager to learn everything about the family members theyre named for.

My kids are Samuel & Lily. We also liked Haley for a girl, I like Link for a boy but the hubby hates it. Also Holden for a boy. I think Violet would also be a cute name for a girl but if we have a Lily and a Violet it would make me feel obligated to name any other girls after flowers and there aren't too many other flower names I like for a girl. Congratulations and good luck!

First if you have tryed for 3 years don't get to excited and go buy baby stuff just yet. I have always heard and believed its bad luck to buy anything for baby until 12 weeks. But my favorite baby names are
Boys: (#1) Tyler, Xander, Joshua, Jeff, Shannon, Casey, Logan, Morgan
Girls: Lola, Layla, Leah, Megan, Ally
