DIAPERS, baby wipes, washcloths, receiving blankets... But I think that you can never go wrong with Gift cards... Target, Toys R' Us, or any baby clothing stores are always good

Well, if she registered somewhere, I would start there and you can always throw in a couple of your own ideas as well.

Basic appreciated items are onesies, some in each size are helpful, diapers, and baby wipes. Other common items are receiving blankets, burp cloths, bibs, bath products, a bath tub, a diaper pail, bottles, pacifiers, the kit with the thermometer and nail clippers in it, a baby monitor, bottle brush, small toys.

Even things for later on are a good idea, since most people think of what she needs right away. Gifts like toddler cups, baby bowls, plates, and utensils, are things that she will have when she needs them later on. It's always nice to have things ahead of time, so you don't have to rush out and buy them as you need them.

Boppy pillows are great. Clothes are fun to buy. I know I really liked it when someone got me a huge pack of diapers and a mega pack of wipes. Get size 1 or 2 though. The question really depends on how much you want to spend. If you know how she is doing her nursery you could get her something for that. You could organize a group gift and get a nice pack in play, cradle, high chair or stroller. Oh and if you find this item, it is great! Go to Babies R Us and get these disposable placemats that stick to the table. They have zoe and elmo on them. She won't need them until much later but they are great! There also is an item, which I forgot the name, it is a self feeder that looks like a rattle with a netting over it. you can put any type of food in there and the baby can suck it and won't choke. Very nice. My kids loved that. So, you can get a combo of a bunch of small items and a boppy and put it in a nice basket or tote. Or you could get one big item or a group gift. OH! A bouncy chair is another wonderful gift! I used on with all three of my kids. Sorry I couldn't narrow this down but there is so much a baby needs.

Depends on how much money you want to spend.
But I like getting people a basket (like a clothes basket because then they can use it) full of things like, blankets, diapers, wipes, bottles, binkies, socks, hats, maybe an outfit or two, lotion, and baby wash, powder, etc. Anything you can find in the baby dept.
That way they get a variety of stuff.

And make sure you get something cute that they wouldn't buy themselves./

i got my friend a handprint plaster kit and a travel size pack of lotion and shampoo and stuff....also a good thing to get is gas medicine and baby tylonol (no one really thinks of that stuff) a bottle warmer from first years is pretty good...maybe a pack of diapers (i would maybe go with size 2 bc if anyone gets her diapers they'll prolly get newborns and 1's...no one got me any 2's but i had tons of newborn and 1's left over) a teething feeder is awesome for when her baby is around 4 months click on the link to see what it looks like...and if she's planning on breast feeding get her "Soothies" they are awesome and worth the money...theyre like 10 dollars at walmart and it only has one pair but their reuseable

Did she register anywhere, like Target, Babies R Us, or Walmart? If so, look to see what she has on her wish list and pick something from that.

I don't think you should get her clothes because everyone else will be getting her that. Maybe get her a trendy diaper bag or something from her registry list. babystyle.com has tons of cute things.

I like to give books. Usborne touchy-feely books and board books are my favorite.

Definitely find out if she's registered somewhere too. Then you know you'll be getting her something she wants.
