Lots of Palestinians have lived in these refugee camps all their lives. Are they allowed to travel throughout Lebanon or Syria without restrictions. Are they allowed to get a job. Do they pay taxes to Leb/Syria or not? How do those host countries treat them?

I know that Palestinians in Lebanon have no civil rights and can not get work permits or own property. I am not sure about the situation in Syria, but I think it is only slightly better.

Refugee! exactly means, the person who is displaced from his legally adopted/birth land and stay in another country/state with their permission due to political instability, ethnic retaliation, natural calamities, man made calamities like war etc.

Most of the refugees come under UN's control for their general administration and other normally daily required assistance. This we can call as UN sponsored Refugee rehabilitation and a minimum required settlement is given to them. For them travel documents are issued by the country in which the refugee camps fall under and UN guarantees their status.

Most recently we notice in certain countries their own citizen live in Refugee status. Eg. Khurdish groups in Turky & Iraq, due to their ethinic voilence. Palestines also come under this catagory eventhough they have an elected Government.

When it comes to the individual refugee, they will not be treated at par with a citizen of the country in which the refugeee is put up. He will be getting basic needs. He can't vote in the general elections, the expression should not cross the coupound walls/fenced borders of the refugee camp as the Governments accomodate always feel certain percentage bad elements normally filter in with the refugees that could harm their governing interests.

Refugees have to bear divide and rule policy of the government that gives them support. Paying tax will not help them to be a citizen. Regarding employment, some are allotted to the highly specialised persons in the refugee status provided they have a proven track record for some 50 questions that will be asked by the immigration authorities.

If a reugee behaves as a refugee he will be getting sympathy! If he wants to be the master where he sought refuge, he has to under go lot hardship!!!

The Palestinians aren't welcomed in most Middle East countries. That's why they live better in Israel than in almost any Arab/Muslim country.

Some even serve in the Knesset in Israel.
