I started working for a firm 4 years ago and got on great with one of the women in my office. She's always had a boyfriend since I've known her and she normally complains to me about him. Around Christmas time, she set me up with one of her friends and while her friend was really nice, it made me realise that I really loved her. Now I can't stop thinking of her and want to tell her to get rid of her boyfriend - she could do so much better. However, I don't want to risk the friendship and I have no idea if she feels the same way. I'm tempted to tell her how I feel the next time we're out together but my head has over-ruled my heart everytime so far. What should I do???

I know how strongly you feel and how hard it is to carry a torch. But you have to accept that she's got a boyfriend and you should respect that. Be there for her, listen, and help her if she needs it. Do not tell her to ditch her boyfriend, she may feel inclined to defend him and that would put the two of you at odds. You're stuck in a situation that isn't going to go anywhere until she's single. Good luck and sorry I couldn't be more helpful!

Oh Dear!!!

Stay as far away as possible. Do not risk ruining a great friendship because that is what you will do.

I made the mistake of going out with a workmtae, for three years to be precise, but we split up & have not spoken since. We were really great friends before that. We'd go clubbing & shopping together but spoilt that by being boyfriend & girlfriend.

As far as dissing her boyfriend with you, we all do that ALL the time, regardless of how they are behaving - it's just something we like to do so don't read too much into that.

Don't say anything to her & try and move on. Good luck :-)

Gently approach this. Don't tell her your feelings, just start paying her compliments, and do something nice for her, like get her a teddy or have some flowers delivered to the office. She'll soon get the hint. Good luck!!

Did you ever think maybe she's complaining to you for a reason. Tell her how you feel before she meets someone else, because she will get tired of him so show her your the brother she wants in her life.

A workmate?? Aint that a big vice that you put wood in. Although it does sound like you want to put your wood in your workmate. Just be careful & watch out for splinters.

Explain to her in a friendly way that if she chose to leave her bf you would be there for her to help her and gradually let her know how you feel.
